Sun is a master at perfecting hair color. I have been to previous hair salons where I left feeling extremely let down-i just wanted light blonde highlights and instead, left with a coppery-orange blonde. Not with Sun! The toner she uses (at no additional separate cost) and the high level of detail and care she puts into your hair throughout, you will walk out of there asking yourself, "I wish I had came to her sooner rather-How did she make my hair look so natural?" The highlights are NOT streaky either which gives your hair that natural look! One other thing-I have never seen a hairstylist use so much tin foil in my hair...so she definately does not skimp out on that part whatsoever!!

I have been going to Sun for a few years now! She is absolutely hands down the MOST amazing hair stylist for so many reasons. I have not only been through several stylist through the years, but I went several years without one due to anxiety and panic issues. Every time I tried someone new, I would try and explain what I wanted. I would get so nervous and feel as though I was being looked at like “what the heck is she talking about” and end up walking out with what the stylist felt what was right for me and not what I wanted.

I opened the phone book one day, pointed and got Sun! When I walked in, expressing what I wanted with my hand movements, strange words and expressions, those same feelings came around.....”there was no way this person was gonna understand me and she is gonna think I’m an idiot”. Sun was so patient with me and somehow she understood my crazy interpretation of exactly how I wanted my hair! It was amazing.

Sun’s decision to start her own salon has made it even more special. Her little shop is so very personal, clean and calming. Never do I feel out of place or judged. The time she takes with you makes you feel like you are her only customer and very important to her. If you wanna listen to music, you listen to music; you wanna talk, you talk; you wanna sit in silence, you sit in silence; you wanna listen, she will talk with an openness and kindness that makes you wanna know more about her, her life and her family.

It's been over 30 years since I had my hair cut, yes is was that long. I am sooo happy with my new medium hair length. There were tons of curls hidden under all the weight of long hair. I have had nothing but Wow's and compliments. Thank you again Sun.

I was visiting Oregon and saw the reviews for Sun Suk Sy. I had the best experience with her. She is obviously very invested in what she does and keeps herself up to date. After living in Coos County for a year and finally deciding to get my hair cut, I googled "high end hair salons in North Bend." I'm not sure what I expected, but the results of my search left me with the sinking feeling that I would need to drive to Eugene to find a stylist. Don't get me wrong; I'm not particularly fancy or elitist about my hair. I've sported dreads, side cuts, undercuts--and I've gone without seeing a stylist for years at a time. I've lived in Guatemala. I'm not a snob, trust me. I've walked into a barber shop in Colombia and walked out with what looked like an asymmetrical shag (and not in a good way). But days later, at a hole in the wall salon in Cartagena, I found a stylist who said he'd been trained by Vidal Sasson himself. I took a gamble. He fixed it. The result? Second best haircut of my life. That was 8 years ago. Since then, I had trouble finding a consistent stylist. To put it more directly, I'd never returned to the same stylist. I started frequenting YouTube and copying the powder-bleach with 30-developer, rinse, repeat, then follow up with Wella T-18 toner (after bringing hair to banana-yellow aka lightening to level 10) regimen. Over time, this caused a lot of breakage. (I started this damaging routine of bleaching, toning, and flat-ironing my naturally brunette, curly hair a few years before the age of Olaplex.) Anyway, back to that day when I thought all hope was lost in terms of finding a stylist south of Eugene: I ended up hearing about Sun. Or I think I saw an ad on Yelp, and then remembered hearing her name mentioned. I'm not sure. I guess it doesn't matter how I found her. What I do know is, I will never subject my poor hair to the science experiment that is trying to go platinum at home--ever again. Gone are the days when I thought my hair looked fab if I could tone out almost all the brass. Now I leave Sun's chair knowing that there is no brass, at all. Not only that, but she mixed toners together to create a personalized shade. I can literally not style my hair, wear no makeup, and leave the house knowing it's fine--because my hair color. looks. so. good. (Sun also cut my hair into a style that actually works, when I was on the verge of giving up on it due to damage from all my DIY attempts.) So, if you choose your hair stylist based on salon atmosphere, i.e. you're in it for the complimentary glass of wine, or the chic interior, or the purses for sale on the side--I guess you might be less than satisfied by Magic Style. Just please take my word for it, and do your wine o'clock and purse-shopping elsewhere. After Sun works her magic on your hair. You're welcome.

I only get my haircut and/or colored about once a year and she took extra care and time, knowing I wouldn't be back anytime soon. As a busy mom, ranch, & business owner, I really appreciated that! She even sent me a link later that evening, of an organic specialty shampoo she has no affiliation with, just simply to help me look my best & within my preference of organic chemical free choices. It's really nice to be taken care of in such a genuine and complete way. Above and beyond... you don't see that much anymore in businesses and I definitely noticed. You can tell she loves what she does and that she genuinely cares for your appearance goals. She was amazing & patient with my long hair, and even outsmarted my stubborn strawberry-blonde, Irish heritage! Yay! Thanks Sun!

So I just moved here from Texas. Moving sucks doesn't it ladies? I'm not even talking about the p.i.t.a. packing part. I'm talking about the two most dreaded chores... finding a good gyno and finding a good hair stylist. The gyno is easier hands down am I right? Enter Sun.. and may I say she is appropriately named because she shines bright in a small town with way more nail salons than full service options. I feel dumb now.. having wasted so much time trolling Yelp and the Internet from Portland to Eugene searching for the best talent when all along she was right here in tiny little 'ol North Bend. I am done paying an exorbitant price to have some 20-something, excessively pierced, technicolor haired waif tell me what I REALLY want. Sun only cares about what I want. And she delivers. Through my many moves from Southern CA to the SF Bay Area to Charlotte NC to Austin TX and finally here in North Bend, she is the best. From counseling to color to cut, trust her. And bonus.. she's an absolute doll to boot.

Just got my hair styled and colored.. which it needed much love ??.. gave Sun total control of coloring and styling anything she thought that would help my change my looks and boost my confidence level. After changing my appts. Twice she rescheduled for a third time and am very happy to say she made excellent choices in my style and coloring. Sun is amazing! A magician! I had layers of crazy colors, even box dye... I've had other stylists be unwilling to take on the task of making me blonde again, but Sun worked her magic. I went in for two sessions. After the first day there were a couple pieces that I thought needed a little bit more blonde and she got me back in right away to make sure I loved my hair.Very reasonably priced, quick response. I just moved to the area and was nervous about finding my new stylist. Definitely recommend her and will be going back for all my hair needs

I had my hair done several months ago and I must say, the job was executed
extremely well!

Sun did a purple ombre that went from very dark purple to a very light
purple and it was so beautiful! I went in with the explanation of how I had
never colored my hair a crazy color, and wanted to to do it one time. But I
still wanted to have a professional look, and man did Sun deliver!

The purple lasted a pretty long time as well and it faded perfectly so that
it didn't need much of a touching up. Now that all the purple is gone I'm
left with a caramel blonde ombre on the bottom with my dark brown natural
hair up top and it still Blends flawlessly. I still get compliments on the
color of my hair :-)
